Romano-British

Roman Britain, commonly agreed to span from 43 AD through to approximately 500 AD (although Roman rule officially ended in 410 AD), was marked by a rapid change in material culture and technology as the invading Romans brought with them not only objects and ideas, but new ways of living - new towns, roads, economy, political structure, and a multicultural society - although remnants of Iron Age culture remained, too. Through the exploration of material culture, we can gain renewed insight into what day-to-day life was like for the people of Britain at this time.
