Prehistoric

The prehistoric period in Britain spans a vast amount of time, from c.10,000 BC to 43 AD. This time was full of innovation, change, and movement, both of people and of goods. The material culture ranges from precise flint arrowheads, to strong stone tools, to delicate pieces of worked bone. Combined, all these things help to tell us the story of some of the earliest people in Britain.

CFA has recovered artefacts ranging from Neolithic stone and flint tools, to Bronze Age Beaker pottery and Iron Age querns. See below for a gallery featuring some of our favourite finds.
