Post-Medieval

The Post-Medieval period, 1500-1900 AD, into the modern period, 1900 AD onward, was a time of great and rapid change in Britain. Industrialisation and urbanisation led to the movement of people from the countryside into cities, where they took up work in places like factories and mills. This changed landscape produced a plethora of material goods, many of which survive in the archaeological record.
